It's going to cost companies a lot more money to migrate their docker dependencies than simply pay their open source dependency maintainers to keep the org intact. Might as well become a project sponsor!

This could be the best thing to happen to open source projects if the argument is framed correctly. You don't solve a cost problem by pursuing a more costly alternative.
