That’s a pretty cynical question. My doctor advises a vegan diet for her diabetic patients, since it is very effective against type 2 diabetes. Patients who follow her advice are generally off their meds pretty quickly, and pay far fewer visits to my doctor. It’s against her best interests (monetarily) to promote that diet, but she does it anyway.

Totally anecdotal, but it’s a datapoint that shows there are doctors who adopt profitless treatments if they truly are in the best interest of the patients.


Non-anecdotally, keto diet is used to manage epilepsy.
