My first startup, back in the early 90s, was called FlowNet [1]. It was an incredibly cool design invented by my co-founder, Mike Ciholas. It was fast, cost-effective (10x price-performance improvement over the contemporary competition), self-configuring, scalable, and included advanced features like quality-of-service guarantees.
Needless to say, it did not succeed. But the world would have been a better place if it had.
