If Watsi open sourced their platform (Rails on Heroku if memory serves me), I’d bolt it together with medical tourism (travel arrangement through bulk purchasing and scheduling with foreign providers) to get these Americans treated in Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and India for a fraction of the price. It’d be a shim to save lives and reduce suffering until the US implements universal healthcare.
