None of those things happened in a free market


You never have free markets because even "free" markets exist in relation to other markets that tend towards natural monopolies or oligopolies, or are bound by states' strategic interests or other institutions that for multiple, completely logical reasons do not or cannot have free markets.

So that friction will always exist.
