It's much more subtle, you feel the pressure from the tip of the brush. Depending on the brush. You also feel the differences in friction between painted and unpainted canvas. I did painting and art classes for about 3 years fairly seriously as a kid and the most fun part to trying all different types of making visual art was feeling the different physical nature involved in each type.
That's entirely the point. Nobody said that this is the one true way to do things, the post isn't arguing that. If there is one thing I have realized from reading this forum it's that there is no one way to do things. This presents a method for getting those side projects of life started; the audience: people who need a push in a productive direction. I hate the ridiculous stance this community has on anecdotal posts. Obviously it's "original research" it's an example from his life, that statement doesn't apply here.
Here I think you are getting at a distinguishable difference between those who are pushing against authorities and those who are hacking the system and flying under the radar. I think that anti-authoritarianism is more a directed attitude of questioning, while avoiding them/it is something different entirely; less trying to change the system, more accepting or ignoring it altogether. That is not to say that one cant do both things; in fact it might be a necessary way to live outside of the norm of blind obedience.
