And has a better UI than their normal version (to me, anyway). It's kinda cool that twitter has a fully functional backup site already online.

When we were looking to buy a house, Street View allowed us to see what the neighboring area looked like; listings rarely include details like "surrounded by three auto-repair shops" or "half of the houses on the block look abandoned".

Perl, especially when parsing and manipulating text files. Still the best glue language between applications that don't like each other, such as when the output from one is incompatible with the input of the other (of course, vendor of second app promised it would be compatible). The only downside after perl saves the day is that it makes whoever decided to buy that application look far less bad than they deserve.

dosbox is awesome; from time to time, I play a game of Master of Orion and still have so much fun. Being able to play it on my ubuntu box and android tablet is cool... ok, it's cool to me.

Back to topic: I wouldn't mind playing around with that old UNIX vm image, though I better wait until I'm home.

An all-time high of 87F doesn't cut it for you? For me, a place that never reaches the 90s is near-paradise. Also, Icelanders tend to be educated and friendly; I spent over a week in Reykjavik in February 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. After that trip, it made the list of places I'd consider moving to and this article just makes it more attractive to me.

Disclaimer: I'm originally from Canada, so I didn't find their winter all that daunting.

My answer would be: that's not how I would choose as it would box me into only using a limited number of parameters. Each offer must be viewed and compared as a whole, where multiple smaller benefits may outweigh a larger one so cannot be eliminated from the comparison.

> we believe the best ethics panel will come from the users

Not when it comes to HIPAA compliance. This isn't about finding the best ethical code of conduct for privacy (which can be tricky), but simply abiding by existing and well-defined rules; all users agreeing you're a paragon of virtue doesn't matter much if you break said law once it does apply to you.

Please understand I've no wish to rain on your parade; it's just that I know all too well dealing with HIPAA can cause some headaches, but that's part of the game when working in anything connected to healthcare in the US.

That's true, for HIPAA compliance, there is no negotiation and we will meet that standard.

But there inevitably will be some user concerns that fall outside of HIPAA compliance. So, we see HIPAA+HITECH as a minimum requirement. We don't expect it to be sufficient, however, and that's where user feedback, the "user ethics panel" if you will, comes in.

Who needs an "official" ICS? I've installed a beta ICS ROM (teamDRH) on my Viewsonic gTablet and it is as tabletized as honeycomb, though it looks better (this build has issues, but developer support is pretty impressive). The best Viewsonic could do as an update was a Froyo-based bugfix release.

Besides, people who have installed custom ROMs on their phone/tablet are likely less worried about using alpha/beta software, so I wouldn't be surprised if most of the early beta testers will be from this group.

There are plenty who would react the same way if it had been Microsoft instead of Google - in this specific case, I would initially give either a cautious benefit of the doubt.

It's not 1999 anymore, most people have moved on from automatic MS-bashing.

CPU for the Aakash tablet is an Arm11 clocked at 366Mhz... This thing will be slow. Basically, another Maylong M-150 (search for "worst gadget ever")

Their Ubislate tablet is better than the Aakash, though.
