While I agree that the penalties for breaching food hygiene / safety standards should be high, I think a site like this has pretty serious flaws. Lets say a restaurant cleans up their act after being previously penalised. Can they ever get off this site? How about if the business is sold and the problems of previous management solved?

Each marker has the date issued of the fine listed, and I purge them after a while—it much maps to what the government has publicly listed, though I agree it's not ideal/perfect.

"It pretty much is" no it is not.

Looks cool but you need to remove all the Google branding. It's misleading and trademark infringement.

oh my god thank you!

Clever, but it will never take off. These real world type games always tank. Why? Because no one wants to go running off randomly looking for a stranger whilst looking like a complete twat. And making actually pay for this? pfft

I think you will find that there is less and less of a secretive nature around the software community, and people are willing to share and discuss ideas fairly freely without worrying about stealing. This inevitably leads to stronger ideas when we can flesh things out together. There are websites such as http://www.cofounderslab.com/ where you can meet people, however you still have to trust them to share your idea with them. I've met a few random folks over the years at programmers / entrepreneurs meetups and we have discussed our ideas fairly openly.

this! ideas are a dime a dozen.

You summed up what I was trying to get across perfectly. So many people running around with 'ideas' and non disclosure forms. Frankly though if you cant implement it, its not worth jack.

From what I understand the XPS 13 standard is exactly the same as the standard model without Ubuntu preinstalled yes (except that it has a windows key as opposed to a linux labeled key)? The developer edition is not available in all countries.

So you don't have to obtain the Dell drivers separately? They are included in ubuntu 12 onward?

How are you going about getting the deals / codes etc into your system?

Users can submit codes, or I add them when I see them on sites like slickdeals. I built a python backend that checks where a code works for new codes. After that, I have some methods so I don't have to check as frequently.

Theres a difference between having value to users because its a decent app and they get to use it for free, and generating revenue from those users. Ask those users to pay and they will leave in droves.

Getting users to pay isn't the only way to make money.

Thats true. But what have they really got to sell?

Who knows. Pre/post roll ads on snaps. Stickers...

Exactly, who knows....

Which is a problem for advertisers. not to be meta, but its true. marketers want to but mindshare, and they want to make sure their pitch is not going to be taken out of context. not knowing what your pitch will look like in context is usually a non-starter for ad sales guys. Of course SnapChat may not want to deal with advertisers as that would require tracking and verification, which might put off some end users as well. That seems to leave fewer possible business models. Although they may invent something new, so lets not count them fully out.
