Just beware there is an EU CE and Chinese export C E. They are different. I probably can't post a link but the search you need is this: CE eu markings CE china export. CE is a mark of quality assurance and compliance. C E is not the same. [edit for spelling]

Link for those curious https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_marking#China_Export

Though I believe neuromod is advertising CE compliance not ‘China Export’

If the space is meant to represent the gap between the C and E, then you have this backwards: the European mark has one letter-width space between the C and E, and the forged mark from China has the C and E right next to each other.

Working in a system where people say: "STS has a low temperature environmental chamber which is used by STS staff for equipment development and testing down to −85 Celsius. It may be possible for you to use this chamber to temperature test your own equipment" is what science is about, we have learned from our mistakes, can we help you to not do the same.

The reference to XLR connectors, an aged technology, shows the ruggedness of the the design, a good example of the evolution of survival of the fittest in design. It is not the best, but the most fit.

In the UK the Civil Service used to perform this function. They would take the desires and direction of the the current Government and implement them. They used their skill to make them as most likely to succeed. This included cost, legislative timescales and their sole aim was to implement the desire of the leaders of that time.

This has been systematically dismantled and much of the responsibility now given to agencies. They don't necessarily share the same aims. Agencies are now major contributors to political parties and a dispassionate approach no longer exists.

A great quote - no one wants innovative bankers. The UK has made this a reality in the political sphere.

A new normal will emerge.

Possibly my first post, so sorry if I have make faux pas. In the UK the national health service [NHS] engages nationally to negotiate price. They have the concept of the value of a medicine compared to the improved quality of life it brings. As a result generic medicines are priced against their value.

This means that an epipen is priced at £45 or about $60. Google Lloyds pharmacy epipen - UK only search.

I rather like this approach to healthcare, I am not sure about transnational ability to buy this - but to those that need it I hope you can make it work.

My observation is that the UK approach to healthcare has some advantages in its approach, it is not without faults but value for money [affordability] is embedded in delivery.

The BBC makes great content and it costs money to do so. It is a large organisation and suffers from lack of agility so changing the funding model is very difficult. Great programmes are made [as well as the usual dross] but to maintain their brand they must continue to do this and need a guaranteed revenue stream

Overlaid is the reality that the BBC is a political issue in the same way that the NHS is. Changes are not enacted by the BBC alone, it requires government approval of the direction of travel. The pillars of the UK [or maybe just England] are the NHS and the BBC. This may be a broken model in the current World and many people may understand this, but changing it will take a generation of persuading a nation that the delivery method should change. Murdoch has been trying for at least 25 years.
