Did he ever explain why he was banned from Something Awful? Surprised it never came up.

The Old Internet remembers.

I was very surprised to see no mention of Something Awful or Raspberry Heaven in this writeup.

Would be fun to see logs from RH back then.

[2003-10-14 02:51] <rizzou> hey moot - there's this cool website at http://www.4chan.net/ you should check it out. it's really looking like the next big thing, you know?

Wow the majority of posts here are from Microsoft employees.

So? Why is that surprising?

You're right - it doesn't apply to culture.

The "corporate person" is being a sociopath as usual and rather than saying "it harms our company" they attempt to spin it into something that hurts the individuals that work at the company. It doesn't. It hurts the "corporate person", but they can't come out and say that.

Man you really destroyed that guy

Wonder if he's gutsy enough to change his mind.

Nothin like a good old economics circle jerk.

I think it's time HN applied the 'no politics' rule to economics too. Nobody is right, nobody is wrong, and nobody ever changes their mind.

Unfortunately corporate "people" act like sociopaths 99.99% of the time.

This is certainly a Good Thing, but I don't blame people for knee-jerk skepticism.

Microsoft's social voting brigade is out in force today because of Microsoft's annual convention thing.

Today HN is a safe space for Microsoft supporters.

Many of us do not hide our identities the way you feel compelled to, and do not dismiss Microsoft out of hand because it was cool to do so when we were in our teens.

You–on the other hand–are so confident in your opinion that you have made an incendiary shell of an account to troll people.

If anyone's on the take, it's you.

Regardless of my username, I really like this product. Microsoft is the first to do it and (I assume) it works seamlessly with Azure.

Microsoft is certainly ahead of the pack with this product.

One bozo sends out an e-mail and it's news?

Corporate CEO goes on cross-country tour to show "regular folk" how relatable he is.
