Uhhh Apple is not banning electron. It is banning the use of private APIs.
The only reason Electron is in the news is because it uses some of those APIs.
Now you could argue that private APIs are a stupid idea. But turning this into a conspiracy theory that Apple is on a mission to kill non native apps is a bit far fetched in my opinion.
Isn’t it slightly more nuanced than that? Electron is being banned because it relies on Chromium—a Google-sponsored project—which uses macOS private APIs?
If Chromium developers care about this outcome, they’re incentivized to remove use of those APIs and potentially impact the performance of Chromium on Macs.
